In Desperate Need

I’m in desperate need of tops, Birgitte has inspired me to reach for the stars and although the patterns I chose may not be challenging, I plan to attempt a better fit, make a muslin, work on my finishing and perhaps embellish.

Top #1 has been recreated by a number of people on PR, notably “nicegirl” who crafted it from a luscious red dupioni silk.  I plan to use the same but in a different colour, I’ll have to see what the fabric shop has. Purple? Green? Cream?

Number two on the list is Simplicity #2599, a cute little top with trim variations. I think I’m going to use my pink and green watercolour cotton silk fabric I purchased last week. I don’t know which view yet though. I would like sleeves  but which trim??

Last but not least is Simplicity #2365, a long sleeve flowey tunic View A I think. There was a nice purple cotton silk on sale which I think would be perfect for this top but how would I make it special??? Perhaps it will come to me in a dream or maybe I just need to visit Bubblegum 4 Breakfast again.

Something else I need to work on is pants as I haven’t attempted them yet and I’m going to need some when we go to Germany in the fall. I was thinking of attempting Simplicity 2860 from their Amazing Fit collection. Yes, I do seem to be on a Simplicity kick, don’t I? I’m going to look in the spring suiting material, everything is on sale now so I could conceivably get a great fabric for less.

I would peruse Burda but since their website has changed, it’s hard to find anything! There’s no point looking in Burda Style either, there’s less than a hand full of patterns for bigger girls.

I’ll be shopping after work today then probably tracing out a pattern later, looking forward to the weekend, YAY!

WAIT! HOLD THE PRESS! I just skipped over to the Vogue site and found a few things there I really like! I love this tunic, it’s so different without be crazy.

I also love this founcey top, Vogue #1199!

I also like this knit top, Vogue #8671 from Marcy Tilton, not fond of their trim, I’ll have to come up with something I like. 😉

Have a great weekend!
