I know, I know, I’ve been a bad blogger, no new posts since July 16th! Trust me, I am sewing, I kinda sorta finished my Versace inspired top Butterick 5464, I just have to make buttonholes and add buttons, I’m not 100% sure I like the top. I went to Fabricland Saturday AND Sunday, picked up Vogue patterns #1039 and #8504 as well as many meters of blue and yellow cotton and a bight green cotton print. I promised Pierre that I’d take photos but we had to tear down to pool as we’re getting our backyard leveled today.
I purchased Vogue #1039 for both myself and my mother-in-law who lives in Bremen, Germany. We’re going to visit her in October for a week then travel throughout the country on an unlimited 5 day rail pass. I purchased a blue cotton for myself which starts off dark and fades to a lighter blue and am using it so the dark part of the fabric is on the bottom. The green is a more mature colour and pattern for Mom, I know she’ll love it. If everything is under control when I get home, I’ll take photos of the fabric and perhaps of the backyard too…
Our first stop will be Munich then Garmesh Paten Kirchen, Rotenburg ob der tuaber then Berlin and return to Bremen. We have a 10 hour stop-over in Amsterdam before returning to Canada so I’m looking forward to doing some shopping in the city!
In other news, I think I may have finally found someone willing to sell me their vintage Singer sewing machine, a Singer 348 with all the attachments and manual!!! We’re going to pick it up tomorrow, I’m so excited!!!
