I Finished My First Quilt!

Ta-da! Friday afternoon I finally finished up the quilting, trimmed it and tacked on the binding. For the rest of the evening I used the Missouri Quilt Company’s method of hand sewing the binding and finished this morning. I tossed it into the washer on cold then dryer. DH loves it except he thinks the white won’t stay white for long with the pets. See larger photos on Flickr.

DH took me to the Royal Teahouse for a dim sum brunch, my favorite and afterwards went to Quilt A Bag for a little fabric shopping. They carry some interesting Japanese fabrics but I picked up a charm pack of super cute retro fabrics, Moda neutrals and Bella Solids charm pack.

Haven’t got a clue what I’m going to make with them but they sure are cute!

The neutrals are great, I can think of a hundred projects I could use them in, they work with everything!

  1. Hurray! It’s great. The quilting adds a lot of interest. The section with the closely spaced horizontal quilting lines really pops, especially on the back (or second front?).

    • Thanks Pomona, I love the colours too, that was before I discovered that many modern quilters don’t like batiks. ;D Sadly, Canada Post still hasn’t delivered my fabric.
