Dragonfly Garden

Dragonfly Garden

Today I started and completed another pillow cover.  I’m really happy with the way it turned out, especially the composition. This will be one of the first items in my Etsy shop when I open it but I need to build up more stock first.

I made buttonholes for the first time on my Bernina 550 QE and I have to say they’re spectacular, better than the Sapphire!

Saturday I managed to perfect my asterisk block and another mod pinwheel.

What did you do this weekend? Did you manage to get any sewing done?

    • Thanks P! I need to expand a bit, not sure what direction I want to go with these. Yay for winter sewing when the weather is ugly. Oh, I’m also getting up at 4:00 a.m. so my days are extra long!

  1. The dragonfly garden is lovely! Nice work! I’ve been working on a block that is like your asterisk block, but I found it called a snowflake block. I made it into mug rugs for Christmas presents. I have to admit that you are much more careful with yours, but then I was trying for more of a wonky look with mine.

    • Hi Lisaleh, hurrah for another Torontonian! I live happily in the eastern burbs now (east of Scarborough) where I only have to drive 5 minutes to see a cow, I love it! Thanks for your kind comments, paper piecing is relatively easy, if you haven’t already, give it a try!

  2. Your dragonfly garden is so very pretty, I love it – and your pinwheel is awesome, I’d have no idea how to even begin something like that, it looks really complex to make
