Lovely Little One

No, I’m not pregnant, not that I’m too old but I wouldn’t have the energy to keep up with a little one! No, this is about an Australian lass named Bettina, her blog is called “Lovely Little One“. Bettina was my Covert Robin but at the time of the swap, she gave birth! She was so sweet and apologized profusely for her tardiness. Of course I told her not to fret, we were on our way to Germany for vacation and little ones come before swaps!

Just look at the lovliness I found in the mail upon our return!

Look at those gorgeous little turquoise flowers, did she really make this herself??  And look at this!

Which opens into this!

Aren’t they lovely? Bettina is an excellent sewer, her stitches are perfection and I love that expadible zippered pouch in the centre of the wallet.

Thank you Bettina, your generous gifts are gorgeous!

Covert Robin D-Day!

Today is link-up day and I’m happy to say that my package is wrapped and ready to drop in the mail box! I waffled around trying different quilting techniques which I learned isn’t a good thing to do when you’re meeting a deadline!

I stuck to the tried and true. I really hope my partner likes her gifts!

Keeping up with the Joneses

I can’t, I just don’t have that much spare time and am away from home 11 hours a day. I’m dropping out of SewCalGal’s Free Motion Quilting Challenge, I missed February completely and March is more than half over with nothing to show for it. I will follow the tutorials when I can but I just can’t compete, especially when we’re having such beautiful weather.

I also won’t be participating in any more creative swaps — fabric swaps are easier and I’m considering the Charm About You’s Stale Stash Swap, I have some Joel Dewberry which needs rehoming.

Here’s the little mug rug I broke a needle on last weekend, I have one Microtex needle left, good thing Fabricland is having a birthday sale soon, I’ll be stocking up on thread as well.

I received my purchase of Flea Market Fancy Eyelet in grey, two yards as it’s an excellent basic, my first purchase of this line, I missed the first round.

BTW, this is my first post composed entirely on my new iPad (yeah, the new one that just came out) using Blogsy(I love it!), you can use it for Worpress or Blogger, comes with instructional videos built in so if you need help, it’s right there but everything is intuitive imo. I even took these photos with my new iPad!

This is going to be awesome for our trip to Germany in May!

Fretting

All week I have been stressing and fretting over my Covert Robin partner, I’ve been through every single page of her blog. She doesn’t post any photos of her home, decor or even herself. I have no idea what she looks like or what colours her walls are. All I know if that she likes yellow and grey, owls, pennants and a couple of other things I dare not mention lest I give away her identity. But all in all, her blog doesn’t really tell me anything about her home life.

I have a few thoughts on what I’m going to make for her and I’ve downloaded this awesome bunny holding scissors embroidery file from Urban Threads.  I’m going to stitch it out but am not yet sure how to use it in a project, it’s just so friggin’ cute!

Happy sewing everyone!

The Covert Robin

I found this swap today while going through my Google reader and decided to join, it sounds like fun! Best part is that it’s open to anyone who wants to participate! There aren’t any prerequisites, no going through your stash to make sure you have the “right” fabric, no judgement. Count me in!!

Click on the photo if you want to play too and read more about it. 😀
