WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

From left to right: Les Fleurs Bleu, Parcheesie, Chicopee Log Cabin, Birds & Berries crib quilt. (Click image for larger view.)

My actual WIP is the Star Blossoms quilt, I’m almost finished cutting the thousand little pieces that go into it. Maybe I’ll even get to do a little sewing today between bathing the pugs!

I received my copy of Simply Fat Quarters yesterday and there’s a few patterns in there I’d love to make including Carousel, pictured on the cover and Poppy.

I also subscribed to the Fons & Porter magazine, “Love of Quilting” on my iPad so I don’t have to wait for the postal service to delivery my copy 3 weeks after everyone else has it.

And the Winner is…

#65 according to Random.org!

“OOhh, so many things that could be done with $50 of fat quarters – my mind is tingling!”

An email has been sent and once I receive confirmation, her $50 gift certificate to the Fat Quarter Shop will be sent. I would love to know what she chooses and what she makes with it.

A Big Thank You to everyone who entered and left comments, I enjoyed reading each and every one!

Those of you who follow my blog know that I’m participating in the Covert Robin gift swap hosted by Imagine Gnats and I received the name of my recipient yesterday. This is only the second swap I’ve ever participated in and I’m so excited / nervous! I’ve been scouring her blog looking for something we have in common — colour, pattern, style. She likes yellow and grey and so do I and it just so happens that I’ve been collecting fabrics in these colours.

Last night I started cutting grey and yellow Dresden blades but I’m not sure if I’m going to make a plate with them or something completely different.

Have a great Saturday, now get sewing!

Loulouthi Rag Lap Quilt

Anna Maria Horner’s Loulouthi flannel is so soft and snuggly it makes a perfect rag quilt. When this fabric line first became available, I was confused by the colour palette but when you mix all the prints into a quilt, they all work and make a stunning statement. Sadly, Loulouthi flannel is quickly becoming hard to find, I hope they rerelease it next fall! I want to make more of these quilts, I was thinking my next would be with Heather Bailey’s Fresh Cut in flannel.

Lauren + Jessie Jung

Find my $50.00 Fat Quarter Shop giveaway HERE!

Just last week I purchased some Hideaway by Lauren + Jessie Jung, I just love that cuckoo clock print, it reminds me of the Alps, which I think was the intent. I’m not sure when it was released but it’s not sold in online stores anymore so I had to get it off Etsy, always a great place to find OOP fabrics!

This morning I read a post on Amanda Murphy’s blog about an Easter table runner she’s creating using Flora by Lauren + Jessie Jung. Well, I fell in love with this fabric too and was able to purchase it from the Fat Quarter Shop, YAY!  What is it about these particular fabulous designers that make my pupils dilate?

Win a $50.00 Shopping Spree!

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED.

The very generous Kimberly at the Fat Quarter Shop sent me a $50.00 gift certificate which I would like to share with you. Best of all, there are no flaming hoops to jump through! All you have to do is leave ONE comment on this post for a chance to win. I’ll be using random.org to pick a winner next Saturday, March 3rd.

Just imagine all the fabulous fabrics you could get with $50.00!

Good luck everyone!

Yes, I bought some including the solids fat quarter bundle, you can never have too many solids, right?! Nope, I don’t get any gifts or kick-backs for shout outs, I just love a good sale and wanted to share it with you!!

This week I’ve linked my Lucky Ladybug cushion cover to Thank Goodness it’s Finished Fridays. This week it’s being hosted by Lynette of What a Hoot!  Check out the quilting on her pillow!
